This area of practice concerns itself with transfers of interests of real estate and titles to real estate. The transfers with which we deal are most frequently sales and resulting deeds, leases, and mortgages. Title questions involving proof of marketable title by examination of an abstract or title search, or analysis of competing claims to title. Often such competing claims generate litigation. Frequent sources of litigation are disputes over boundaries and easement rights. Competent real estate litigation attorneys usually have extensive experience with title work and understanding of real estate descriptions and surveys.
