***FRAUD ALERT***
A
Colorado attorney and two non-lawyer business associates were convicted of
violating the Colorado Consumer Protection Act for selling estate plans they
marketed as "a new nursing home entitlement program."
The Defendants claimed that the estate plan which consumers were to buy
would qualify consumers for governmental payment of nursing home costs
regardless of the consumer's income or assets, would avoid any spending down of
assets to qualify, would prevent any liens being applied against consumer's
home, and would serve as a substitute for nursing home care insurance.
